Mary & Fran: A Christmas Wedding in L’Empordà
Mary and Fran said I do in the imposing Sagrat Cor Church in Girona. The Christmas atmosphere blended with the emotion of the moment, making their wedding an unforgettable event. The couple chose this magical time of year to unite their lives in a religious ceremony that perfectly reflected the warmth of their love.
From the very beginning, Mary knew she wanted to personally organize her wedding. Carefully planning and personalizing every detail—from choosing the church to the final flower arrangement—she handpicked each vendor to bring her dream day to life.
The ceremony was intimate and moving. The church had a cozy yet solemn atmosphere. Mary looked stunning in her gown from Si Nuvies Atelier, a delicate and elegant piece that enhanced her beauty. Her sister Noemí, a professional makeup artist and hairstylist, was in charge of her look, highlighting her features with soft makeup and a romantic hairstyle with loose waves that perfectly complemented both her dress and her personality.
Fran, on the other hand, waited for Mary at the altar in an impeccably tailored blue suit by Confecciones Argence SL. Just one look at his face as Mary appeared at the church entrance and walked down the aisle, glowing with happiness, was enough to capture the depth of the moment. The ceremony was intense and emotional, bringing many guests to tears.
One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was the exchange of rings. Marta, from Joiería Artística, carefully crafted these unique wedding bands using gold from family heirloom jewelry. For Mary and Fran, these rings represent not only their commitment but also a deep connection to their roots and shared history.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to Mas Geroni, a charming country house in L’Empordà, where the banquet and the celebration took place. The choice of venue could not have been better: a rustic and cozy setting, ideal for a Christmas wedding. Flors Caterina took care of the floral decoration, opting for deep red roses and lush greenery typical of the season. As a special touch, at the bride’s request, three natural Christmas trees were placed in the hall—an homage to the past, present, and future Christmases from Dickens’ famous A Christmas Carol.
The banquet, prepared by Sabor a Brasa, was a true feast. Guests enjoyed a carefully selected menu that combined traditional flavors with exquisite presentation. The tableware, cutlery, and furniture, provided by Ópera Lloguers, added a touch of elegance and distinction to the setting, creating a warm and refined atmosphere that enhanced the festive spirit.
The grand finale of the banquet was the wedding cake, a special gift from the couple’s brother-in-law. A unique creation, designed especially for them.
